CHRISTIAN LIFE COMMUNITIES
Christian Life Communities is an international federation of small
groups of commited Christians who seek to integrate the realities of
lay experience of Ignatian Spirituality with basic Christian
community, and a mission of proclaiming the Gospel of justice and
love. It is neither a religious community nor a secular institute
but, rather, a lay directed, Ignatian-based movement which calls
members to unite their human life in all its dimensions with the
fullness of Christian faith. The movement is shaped by a charter of
General Principles which delineate in broad strokes the vision of CLC.

for
DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE
The Canadian Catholic Organization for DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE, a
democratic movement for international solidarity, supports partners
in the Third World in the pursuit of alternatives to unjust social,
political and economic structures.
It educates the Canadian population about the causes of
impoverishment of people and mobilizes actions for change.
In the struggle for human dignity, DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE associates
with social change groups in the North and South.
It supports women in their search for social and economic justice.
DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE, the official development organization of the
Canadian Catholic Church established in 1967, is inspired by the
values of the Gospel, particularly "the preferential option for

Worldwide
Marriage Encounter
Worldwide Marriage Encounter has touched the lives of all kinds of
people: newly married couples, great grandparents, childless couples,
and parents of large families. Marriage Encounter is for people
who are working and living in good marriages but want more.
The weekend is simple and positive but it is not a retreat. It is not
a marriage clinic. It is not a counselling session. It is
not a sensitivity group.
The weekend is a special time for husbands and wives to be away from
the distractions of the world, together. During the weekend,
you have a chance to talk, to listen, and to focus on each other and
your marriage. It is a totally private experience for the
couple. There are no group discussions.
The next PEI Marriage Encounter weekend will be scheduled for April
17 - 19, 2009. Weekends are also held in NB and NS, for more
information, or to register for a Marriage Encounter weekend,
contact Patty & Shawn Noonan at 368-8375 or by e-mail:

Refugee Sponsorship Coordinator
The Diocese is trying to establish a Refugee Sponsorship Committee in
as many parishes as posible on Prince Edward Island to try and help
the millions of refugees that are seeking safety around the world. If
we could start with at least one person in each parish who has the
time and interest to start a Refugee Sponsoring Committee, it would
be wonderful.

Secular
Franciscans
The Secular Franciscan Order is an association of men and women
(married and single) who live and work in the world while following a
way of life that is faithful to the original rule of life written by
St. Francis of Assisi. It is a group of people who desire to live the
Gospel in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi.
"One important characteristic of our fraternity is its
diversity. Members come from all walks of life with rich and varied
religious perspectives; yet we are a family , united in our desire to
follow Christ in the footsteps of St. Francis. This is a powerful
sign of the spirit at work in our midst."
The fraternity meets monthly at the parish hall of St. Francis of
Assisi Church in Cornwall. |
